With a wonderful cold front came a RAIN-FILLED day in Florida that wiped out both of the team's games against Methodist and Widener. While waiting for the first game to be eventually called off, the Engineers decided to occupy their time with something else: a game called "Ninja." If you are unfamiliar with such an activity, please click the video. ENJOY!

The rain won in the end

Unfortunately the weather beat us all today and the fields aren't going to be in good enough shape to play at all today.

Rainy Day of Play?!?

We are on the bus and headed to our games for the day and it looks like it's going to be a wet one, we are hopeful that the rain will pass quickly so we get on the field and win our games!!

Downtown Disney

Coach Shearer and I decided to take the girls to Downtown Disney to keep them from the monotony of the hotel rooms, we think they had a good time

We kind of went to Disney

It's our day off! We've always joked with coach about taking us to Disney World, and we finally got close this year! We are hanging out at Downtown Disney today. It's got Disney in the name...close enough, right?

Monday marked a great day to be an Engineer: Two wins, 17 hits, and plenty of reasons to celebrate. After beating Grove City 3-0 -- complete with a suicide squeeze play (helped by a perfect bunt by Jenna Martinek) and a strong outing in the circle by Marissa Stout -- the squad came out firing against Regis in the nightcap with 10 hits, including four extra-base knocks for a 7-1 win. Whitney Strain and Jessica Ahlborn blasted triples on the day and Carly Heibel's complete game picked up another Engineer win the circle. Rose-Hulman came to Florida to WIN. Half marathon to home plate

This one needs some background first: Allie's foot has been hurt, and she hasn't been allowed to round bases for about 5 weeks. Today in the game against Regis, she was on first base and Lindsey hit a double that scored Allie from first! Needless to say, Allie was not used to this sort of running, and her comments afterward included: "I had to run like 15 miles to get home!" and "when I got back to the dugout, the trainer was about to get some oxygen for me." So I guess the distance between each base has been increased to 5 miles...we need to do some more conditioning.

1 hour till game time..

The Engineers take on Grove City and Regis at 5 and 7p tonight at the Clermont National Training Center. Time to warm up!!

Meet our new team mascot!

We came back from breakfast this morning to find this little guy outside of our rooms. We had to wait for him to leave the area to get into our rooms, and we learned that Allie is quite afraid of ducks after it started waddling back toward her. Poor Allie; she's having a rough trip. She also sat in a fire ant hill when we tried to take a team picture.

Florida!!!!

We made it!

We made it to Florida, and it's a nice 64 degrees out! We stopped to play "Ninja" at a rest stop, and now we are ready to get off this bus and play some softball!...or eat some lunch.

City Skyline Sunrise

The squad left Atlanta this morning enroute to Florida and Mother Nature left a welcoming sunrise. Team is set to arrive at its destination at 3p today!

Bus Ride musings...and chicken nuggets

And so it begins.. Team is set to arrive in Clermont, Fla., around 3pm Sunday #GoRose

Team bonding

We all got together last night to prepare for a week of close quarters living. We supported the men's basketball team in their win over Mt. St. Joe's, made some pasta, and played dance dance revolution.

Down south shenanigans

We had a nice stop in Tennessee. Got some Wendy's, and we ordered a combined total of 130 chicken nuggets! Then we finished the visit off with a good practice at a local high school. We were all super excited to be in the dirt and grass again. One of us took a little fall while getting used to the metal cleats again, but she's alright. Also, I think coach threw more pitches then we ate chicken nuggets! Now we're back on the road and ready to get to Atlanta for the night.
